Bernadette Martin is Founder of Visibility Branding, LLC and is a Career Transition Brand Strategist where she offers career development services for individuals (professionals, entrepreneurs, MBA and Executive MBA graduates) and organizations (universities, associations and corporations). Although based in Paris, she is “virtual” and connects with individual clients and groups on-site and in virtual environments. In addition, she is host and producer of the Visibility Branding Webinar Series where she is joined by guest speakers (authors and experts) and participants from around the world to discuss topics related to career development.

Bernadette is multi-lingual with a 15 year career working in various aspects of corporate and “personal” brand management. Her career has spanned Asia, Europe and the U.S. where she held senior level positions in corporate, agency and academic environments. A move to Paris in 2002 coincided with a transition from corporate branding to “personal” branding and career development where her dream of becoming an entrepreneur became a reality and she founded Visibility Branding, LLC. She has found the transition from working with product brands to working with “personal” brands a natural and rewarding evolution having found a career that truly integrates her values, interests, strengths and natural desire to connect people. When asked why the preference for “people” brands she claims to get energized helping individuals realize their strengths and incorporate their unique promise of value into a compelling brand strategy. Also, she finds it gratifying working with ambitious, creative, motivated clients with aspirations, drive and vision. With all her clients, her intuition, resourcefulness and enthusiasm, combined with listening and networking skills are weaved into every session.

As a Career Transition Brand Strategist, Bernadette is multi-lingual and has clients of various nationalities living across the globe. Drawing upon a wealth of her own cross cultural experiences, having lived and worked in three continents, she advises on how to effectively communicate in a multi cultural context. In addition to defining the appropriate communication mix and strategy, she also gets involved in the tactical more “hands on” phase of developing a brand such as writing, editing and creating copy, whether it’s an online portfolio, web site, blog, ad, brochure, biography or resume. She has worked with more than 200 clients developing their brand positioning, messaging and image.

Her credentials include an MBA from Thunderbird, School of Global Management, a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Foreign Languages and certification as a Reach Personal Brand Strategist, Online Identity Expert and 360Reach Assessment Analyst. Fully aware of the value of her networks, Bernadette is President of the France Thunderbird Alumni Association, Vice President of the American University Clubs of France and an active member of the European Professional Women’s Network. She is featured in Career Distinction: Stand Out by Building Your Brand by William Arruda and Kirsten Dixson and Réussir sa Carrière Grâce au Personal Branding by Olivier Zara and was interviewed at the Global Telesummit: Brand You World

Bernadette has worked with corporate and personal brands in industries such as financial, legal, travel, FMCG, automotive, entertainment, airlines, high-tech, petroleum, bio-technology, legal, hospitality, hotel, and life sciences. Corporate Brands include: Procter & Gamble, Ford, Saatchi & Saatchi, American Express, Citibank, KLM Airlines, Merck, DHL, Jaguar, Nestle, Hennessey, Jacobs Suchard, Tauck World Discovery and GES Exposition Services. This exposure to so many sectors serves as a reference in her consulting practice where her clients hail from a wide range of professions.

On a personal note, Bernadette was born in Los Angeles of Irish, German, and French descent. She claims to be truly “Euro-American”, due not only to her ethnic background, but a result of an early interest in cross-cultural experiences and foreign languages. She is a runner and has completed several marathons but has a preference for mountain running. Her favorite trails are in the Canadian Rockies, the French Alps, Taipei and the Grand Canyon. Her favorite quote is a Tibetan proverb “Happiness is not at the end of the road, it’s the road that brings happiness”. In her own words she would say it is not the “fait accompli” that matters but the excitement, fun and challenges the road (even if it’s uphill) presents in getting there.
